Toyota Further Expands Production and Localisation unit

PRLog (Press Release) – Jul 27, 2011 – Toyota Further Expands Production and Localisation unit

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) today announced further increase of its production capacity to 3,10 2011 Chrysler 200 Convertible ,000 units by 2013. The expansion will come with an investment of Rs. 898 crores approx. and generation of new employment opportunities.

The company had earlier announced its plan to expand the annual production capacity from 1,50,000 units to 2,10,000 units by first half of 2012.  In line with TKM's expansion plans and in order to cater to the increase in demand for Innova , Fortuner, Corolla Altis,  Etios and  Etios Liva,  the company has decided to further increase production. The production in the first plant will be enhanced from 90,000 units to 1,00,000 units and in the second plant from 1,20,000 units to 2,10,000 units. The first plant will manufacture Innova and Fortuner and the second plant will manufacture Etios, Etios Liva and Corolla Altis.  

Furthering the growth of Toyota in India by locally manufacturing the parts of Etios and Etios Liva, Toyota Kirloskar Auto Parts Pvt Ltd (TKAP), plans to install aluminum casting and machining lines, scheduled to begin operations in early 2014. The lines are to be installed at TKAP's new "Etios" and "Etios Liva" engine plant, which is scheduled to start operations in the third quarter of 2012.  The installation will see an additional investment of Rs. 750 crores approx. and generation of new employment opportunities.

TKAP had earlier, announced the setting up of Engine Plant and expansion of its Transmissions EOU, to cater to Etios and Etios Liva, with a combined investment of Rs. 500 crores .

TKAP serves as a production and supply base for manual transmission for IMV series vehicles to India, Thailand and Argentina.  In addition to engines, TKAP is s automobile news cheduled to start producing transmissions for Etios and Etios Liva in early 2013. Exports of the transmissions are also being planned.

Commenting on the localization project in India, Mr. Vikram Kirloskar said "The Etios project is a milestone phase in the growth of Toyota in India. We are now preparing to cater to increasing demand and are working on the expansion of Toyota in India.  Etios and Etios Liva have been designed specifically for the Indian market. Test Drive Adds up to Cash for Fairview Elementary

PRLog (Press Release) – Jul 22, 2011 – Logansport, IN– July 22, 2011– Friends, families and staff of Fairview Elementary School participated in a Chrysler Drive for Kids™ fundraiser during their end of the year picnic on May 20.  While the students were having fun playing games and eating hot dogs, the adults got behind the wheel of a new Chrysler for a test drive. The Chrysler Corporation gave the school $10 for each test drive which allowed the school to add $840.00 to their new playground fund.  

"We were excited to bring seven new Chrysler products to the event, including the Town and County first drive audi a6 miniva mustang car n that is so popular with young families," said Terry Osborn, general manager of Mike Anderson Chrysler Dodge Super Center.  "But this was mostly an easy opportunity to help raise money to support Fairview Elementary School."

"We would like to thank everyone who participated!  We were able to get 84 test-drives in a three-hour period," said Fairview Elementary Principal Chris Hess.  "The event brought us closer to making our dream of a new playground closer to reality."   In an effort to get as many test drives as possible, Principal Hess and Mike Anderson Chrysler Dodge Super Center turned the event into a competition between classrooms. Mr. Miller's fifth graders won a pizza party by bringing the most parents, grandparents and friends to take test drives.

Now the company is going a step further. It aims to deliver a 10 percent reduction in specific CO2 emissions and specific energy consumption for each business segment by 2015. Broadway Smash Wicked Takes Sennheiser's Wireless Receivers and Transmitters for its Second NA Tour

Michael "Fodder" Carrico and Anthony Jones supervise the audio operations for Wicked's Second North American Tour. They are responsible for keeping the audio running smoothly during the shows, monitoring the performance of the wireless RF and mixing the shows from FOH. For each show on the tour, Sennheiser plays a foundational role in their wireless infrastructure. Wicked Sound Designer Tony Meola was responsible for choosing Sennheiser. "All of the wireless we use on the tour is Sennheiser," Jones says. "We have 44 SK 5212 body pack transmitters coupled with Sennheiser's top of the line EM 3732 receivers -- these cover the microphones for the entire cast." 
As one can imagine, adhering to the production schedule while on the road with Wicked is fundamentally important. By lunchtime on the first day of load-in, the crew likes to have the sound up and running in time to make any auto part fine-tuning adjustments. Jones says that the SK 5212 is an enormous time saver in this regard since wireless pairing is done automatically via a built-in infrared sensor. "You just enter the frequency into the receiver, hold the transmitter next to it and then you're done. Then you can move on and work on something else."

Jones also likes the transparent display and controls of the EM 3732, which makes bmw his job easier: "One of the things I like best about the EM 3732 is the fact that you can see so much of what is happening right on the display of the receiver. You can look up squelch, audio levels or RF levels and then make any necessary adjustments because all the controls are right in front of you."

Finally, Sennheiser's Wireless Systems Manager (WSM) software gives Jones and Carrico full visibility into the entire wireless operation, helping eliminate operational and logistical challenges. "You've got 44 receivers that could be set up in a basement somewhere," Jones says. "Before you go running around trying to solve a problem, you can boot up WSM and see if it is RF strain on an antenna, a dead battery or even if the muting is on. This saves a lot of headache."

Recently, the Wicked tour passed through Albuquerque, where Sennheiser has a wireless plant that manufactures microphones, wireless personal monitors and wireless transmission systems. "We were playing for three weeks at Popejoy Hall at University of New Mexico," Jones recalls. "We were invited on a tour of the facility and it was very enlightening to say the least."

Among other things, they noticed the 'clean rooms' and rigorous testing environments that play a role in the Sennheiser manufacturing process day in and day out, as well as the meticulous focus of the plant's employees. HomeAid Atlanta to Complete Green Retrofit to Help Decatur Cooperative Ministry Save Energy & Money

PRLog (Press Release)– Jul 12, 2011– On July 18, HomeAid Atlanta, a nonprofit organization that builds housing for the homeless, will begin an energy efficiency retrofit at a Decatur home operated by Decatur Cooperative Ministry (DCM), a nonprofit organization serving homeless families in the Decatur/DeKalb area.  The project is the first of its kind as part of a new national Environmental Sustainability Program recently launched by HomeAid Atlanta's parent organization, HomeAid America, and funded by a grant from the Walmart Foundation.  

HomeAid Atlanta has partnered with WellHome, an affiliate of Masco Home Services, to complete the green, energy saving upgrades at the home.  An earlier energy audit conducted by WellHome revealed areas where the home's energy efficiency could be improved.  The scope of work for this project includes air sealing and insulating the attic and crawl space, adding a radiant barrier to the roof rafters, duct tightening, adding energy efficient lighting, and sealing roof penetrations.  In addition, GE Appliances and Lighting is providing new, more efficient appliances.  It is estimated that these improvements will reduce the home's energy use by at least 40 percent, allowing DCM to focus more of their funding on direct client services, like counseling, job training and financial education.  & acura #13;
